Police Service Commission

PROTOCOL

1 am especially delighted to welcome you all to the Inauguration of the reconstituted Police Service Commission.

Given the magnitude of the security and development challenges which Nigeria is faced today, the Police Service  Commission has   the  onerous   responsibility of assisting the Federal Government to reposition our Police Force    for    efficient  and effective fulfillment of  its constitutional mandate and full functionality.

Daunting as this task may appear, I am confident that the Collective Synergy and the impressive antecedents of the distinguished Nigerians that constitute the membership of this Commission will ensure a successful prosecution of this national assignment. 

Our Administration believes that economic growth and national development can only be sustained in an environment of enduring peace, stability, security, and the prevalence of the rule of Saw. This requires the strengthening of our law enforcement and administration of justice systems. This also underscores the profundity of the task with which the Government and people of Nigeria are charging you today.

While congratulating each and every one of you on your appointment as members of this important Commission, I implore you to fully commit to working and serving diligently to ensure that we bequeath to Nigerians a Police Force that would effectively and efficiently partner with the Federal Government in our quest for national regeneration,

I regret that the seventh member of the Commission, Hajiya Fatima  Abba Kyari Kura is unable to be with us today.

She has passed on at this critical time when her service to the Nation was most required. May her soul rest eternally in the bosom of Almighty Allah. Plans are on to effect a replacement for her as soon as possible.

I assure you of the unequivocal support of the Federal Government  as you embark on the successful prosecution of this very important national assignment. Fortunately, for a working document, you have the report of the Police Reform Committee to which Government has committed to faithful implementation of its recommendations.

Given the high level of diligence with which the Reform Committee prosecuted its mandate, I am sure that you will find the Report a very useful and productive working document. I will like to seize this opportunity to reiterate our gratitude to members of the Police Reform Committee for a job well done.

Distinguished Ladles and Gentlemen, It is now my singular honour and pleasure to formally inaugurate the Police Service Commission to the glory of God and the enduring peace, security, stability, and progress of Nigeria.

The Police Service Commission wishes to inform all candidates selected from the Zonal Screening exercise that the selection for the 2011 Recruitment of Cadet Assistant Superintendents and Inspectors of Police has been scheduled as follows; 1. DATE: TUESDAY, 6TH DECEMBER, 2011 INSPECTORS ONLY TIME: 8:00 am

RE- RECRUITMENT OF CADET ASPs AND INSPECTORS INTO THE NIGERIA POLICE FORCE: CHANGE OF DATE FOR THE ZONAL INTERVIEWS. The Police Service Commission wishes to inform the Candidates short-listed from the State Screening exercise for recruitment as Cadet ASPs and Inspectors that the interviews at the Police Zonal Command Headquarters will now be conducted from the 4th to the 8th of October, 2011. All prospective Candidates are to report at their respective Zonal Command Headquarters for further screening.

2011 - 09 - 09 ZONAL INTERVIEWS OF APPLICANTS FOR CADET ASPS AND INSPECTORS HAS BEEN RE-SCHEDULE
The Police Service Commission (PSC) wishes to thank all those who made the first step of its recruitment process of Cadet Inspectors and Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) into the Nigeria Police Force a huge success. 2. The huge number of applicants is no doubt a testimony of the commitment of young Nigerians to make their own contribution to peace and order in the country. We thank Governors, Legislators, Traditional Rulers and Members of the Nigeria Police Force for their support during this exercise.

2011 - 08 - 01 INVITATION FOR THE PRE-QUALIFICATION OF CONTRACTORS, TO BID FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE PSC HQTRS
INVITATION FOR THE PRE-QUALIFICATION OF CONTRACTORS, TO BID FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE CORPORATE HEAD OFFICE OF THE POLICE SERVICE COMMISSION 1.0 INTRODUCTION The Police Service Commission is to construct its Corporate Head Office Building at the Jabi District, Abuja and intends to conduct a pre-qualification exercise for interested Building Contractors: Competent and Reputable Contractors are hereby invited to apply and forward their documents for the purpose of PRE-QUALIFICATION. 2.0 SCOPE OF WORKS:

2011 - 06 - 10 2011 RECRUITMENT INTO THE NIGERIA POLICE FORCE (NPF) CADETS ASP AND INSPECTOR - GENERAL DUTY
Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals for Appointment into the Nigeria Police Force as follows: (i) CADET Assistant Superintendent of Police; and (ii) CADET Inspector of Police. Applicants must have a genuine desire for a Career in the Nigeria Police Force and must satisfy the following General and Specific requirements: (i) GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: (a) AGE: Applicant must be between 19 and 28 years of age; (b) HEIGHT: Not less than 1.68 meters (5.6 inches) for Male and 1.6 meters (5.4 inches) for Female;
