The Police Service Commission in exercise of its mandate of Appointing, Promoting and exercising Disciplinary Control over officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force from the rank of Police Corporal to Deputy Inspector-General of Police, has with effect from 14th July, 2010 approved the suspension of the following officers:
(i) ACP John B. Abang - AP No. 30468;
(ii) ACP Mohammed Akeera Yoonus - AP No. 30514;
(iii) CSP Mohammed Ahmadu - AP No. 23757; and
(iv) ASP Mada Buba - AP No. 86112.
2. They were indicted for Culpable Homicide as per the Federal Director of Public Prosecution’s Report over the Boko Haram Riots that took place in Maiduguri, Borno State in year 2009.
3. While the officers have been suspended from duty, their disciplinary details are being processed in order to pave way for their formal arraignment in Court to answer for their acts during the said crisis.
