2012 - 06 - 29 POLICE SERVICE COMMISSION RECRUITMENT OF ICT PROFESSIONALS INTO THE NIGERIA POLICE FORCE

The Police Service Commission invites applicants for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force as Professionals in the following fields of Information and Communications Technology:
1. Systems Programmer/Database Developer
2. Geographic Information Systems
3. Applications Development
4. Networking (Wireless/Wired WAN & LAN)
CATEGORY A
CADET ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT OF POLICE (ASP)
Applicants must possess a B.Sc/HND (or its equivalent) with a minimum of Second Class Lower/Upper Credit, in addition to the under-listed requirements.
1) Systems Programmer/Database Developer/Administrator (Sort Code A1)
-B.Sc/HND in Computer Science/Information & Communication Technology or any other relevant discipline:
-Additional certification in Microsoft, Oracle, proficiency in ASP.net, vb.net, C#, Java, HTML, XHTML, CSS, SQL, or JavaScript, is required.
2) Geographical Information System (Sort Code A2)
-B.Sc/HND in Computer Science/Geography/Information & Communication Technology& other relevant discipline
-Proficiency in GIS applications, GIS & GPS Remote Sensing, Computer Programmingis required.
3) Application Developer (Sort Code A3)
-B.Sc/HND in Computer Science/Geography/Information & Communication Technology/Mathematics or any other relevant discipline
-Additional certification and proficiency in SQL, Java, MS-SQL, MySQL, Web application Development, Web Programming, XML technology, PHP and/or ASP.NET, Web Designing with CMS, is required.
4) Network Engineer/ IT Security (Sort Code A4)
-B.Sc/HND in Computer Science/Computer Engineering, or any other relevant discipline:
-Additional certification in Cisco, Mikrotik, Microsoft and good understanding of network (WAN, MAN, WLAN, LAN) deployment & management, VSAT, Microwave installation/management, Internet Security, is required.
CATEGORY B
CADET INSPECTOR
Applicants must possess an OND in the relevant fields of Information Technology, in addition to the under-listed requirements.
1. Systems Programmer/Database Developer (Sort Code B1)
Minimum qualification: OND in Computer Science/Information & Communication Technology or any other relevant discipline.
-Additional certification in Microsoft, Oracle, proficiency in Dot net, ASP.net, Java, MS-SQL, is required.
2) Geographical Information System (Sort Code B2)
- Minimum qualification: OND in Computer Science/Geography/ Information & Communication Technology or any other relevant discipline
-Proficiency in GIS applications, GIS & GPS Remote Sensing, Computer Programmingis required.
3) Application Developer (Sort Code B3)
-Minimum qualification OND in Computer Science/Geography/ Information & Communication Technology/Mathematics, or any other relevant discipline
-Additional certification and proficiency in SQL, Java, MS-SQL, MySQL, Web application Development, Web Programming, XML technology, PHP and/or ASP.NET is required.
4) Network Engineer/IT Security (Sort Code B4)
-Minimum qualification: OND in Computer Science/Computer Engineering, or any other relevant discipline
-Additional certification in Cisco, Mikrotik, Microsoft and good understanding of network (WAN, MAN, WLAN, LAN) deployment & management, VSAT, Microwave installation/management, Internet Security is required.
Other Requirements (Categories A & B):
AGE: - Applicants for ASP Cadre must be between 23 and 28 years of age, while applicants for Inspector Cadre must be between the ages of 19 and 25 years;
a. HEIGHT: - Not less than 1.67 meters (5’6”) for males and 1.63 meters (5’4”) for females;
b. CHEST MEASUREMENT: - Expanded chest measurement which is for males only, must not be less than 86 centimeters (34”);
c. PHYSICAL FITNESS: - Candidates must not have any physical deformities and will be required to pass a medical examination of physical fitness conducted by an acceptable Government Hospital;
d. Be of Good Character
e. Must be free of pecuniary embarrassment;
f. Must not be suffering from any of the following:
i. Impediment of speech
ii. Gross malfunction of teeth or jaw preventing proper mastication of food
iii. Knock knees
iv. Bow legs
v. Bent knees
vi. Flat feet
vii. Bent arms
viii. Deformed hands
ix. Defective eyesight, or squint eyes
x. Amputation of any part of the body
NOTE:
All credentials submitted by applicants will be verified with the appropriate examination/issuing bodies, and anyone who submits fake documents will be prosecuted.

2. Download the ICT Application Form (3 pages)
3. Complete the Application Form in BLOCK letters only
4. Make sure the correct Sort Code for the position applied for is boldly written at the space provided at the top of the application form.
5. Scan the Completed Application Form and all relevant credentials into a single PDF file and email the file tothe relevant addresses below:

2013 - 04 - 23 LIST OF CANDIDATES RECRUITED INTO THE NPF AS CADET ASPS AND INSPECTORS (ICT PROFESSIONALS)
The Police Service Commission has approved the release of names of successful candidates for appointment into the Nigeria Police Force as ICT Professionals; Cadet Assistant Superintendents of Police (C/ ASPs) and Cadet Inspectors (C/ INSPs) as attached. 2. The date and venue of training of the successful Cadets will be released at a later date.

2013 - 04 - 03 PSC PROMOTED SENOIR POLICE OFFICERS
The Commission in its 35th plenary meeting held on Wednesday April 3, 2013 promoted 110 officers including an AIG, 13 Commissioners and 22 Deputy Commissioners. All the promotions are with effect from April 3, 2013, except for the Assistant Inspector-General which is with effect from July 31, 2013. Also two of the Commissioners are in Acting Capacity.

2012 - 10 - 17 PSC TO MONITOR ONDO STATE GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION
The Police Service Commission in continuation of its resolve to ensure that police officers on election duties adhere strictly to the rules and regulations governing the conduct of free, fair and credible elections in Nigeria will be deploying its staff to monitor the conduct of police officers during the forthcoming Ondo State gubernatorial election scheduled for 20th October, 2012. Members of the public are advised to call the following phone numbers to channel their complaints on any act of misconduct or act of gallantry by police officers during the election:

2012 - 10 - 03 PSC PROMOTE 13 CSPs TO RANK OF ACPs AND 4 SP TO CSP
The Police Service Commission held its 31st plenary meeting on the 3rd of October, 2012 where it deliberated on the effective administration of the Nigeria Police Force. At the end of the meeting, far reaching decisions were taken on how to reposition the force. 2. In continuation of its resolve to reward all hardworking and deserving police officers with promotion to the next rank, the Commission at the end of its deliberations promoted thirteen (13) Chief Superintendents of Police to Assistant Commissioners of Police. They are: 1. Ojeka Odama Paul 2. Edung Patrick Ogon

2012 - 09- 07 PSC PROMOTES 105 CSPs TO RANK OF ACPs
The Police Service Commission at its 29th plenary meeting held on the 7th of September, 2012 deliberated on various issues bordering on the smooth and effective administration of the Nigeria Police Force. The Commission took far-reaching decisions in its resolve at transforming, refocusing and repositioning the Force for better service delivery to the Nigerian Nation.
