2012 - 08 - 02 PSC APPROVED THE PROMOTION OF SENIOR POLICE OFFICERS, DEMOTE, RETIRE AND DISMISS OTHERS

The Police Service Commission at its 28th Plenary meeting held on the 1st of August, 2012 took far-reaching decisions in its resolve to reposition the Personnel Management affairs of the Nigeria Police Force in order to give the Nigerian Nation the security organization it truly deserves.
The Commission considered the recommendations of the Inspector General of Police for the promotion of some senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force to fill existing vacancies. The Commission approved the promotion of Assistant Inspector General of Police, Philemon I. Leha to the post of Deputy Inspector General of Police to fill the vacancy created by the death of DIG John Haruna.
Similarly, the Commission approved the promotion of Eight Commissioners of Police to the Rank of Assistant Inspectors General of Police.
They are:
a) Christopher T. Dega
b) Aliyu Musa
c) Bala Hassan
d) Mohammed J. Abubakar
e) Tambari Y. Mohammed
f) Ibrahim Abdu
g) Julius A. Ishola
h) Alex Emeka Okeke (AIG Medical Services)
Furthermore, in its attempt at motivating deserving officers of the Nigeria Police force, the Commission at the 28th Plenary meeting equally considered and approved the promotion of thirty two Deputy Commissioners of Police to Commissioners of Police, while Ninety-one Assistant Commissioners of Police were elevated to the rank of Deputy Commissioners of Police respectively. All the above mentioned promotions are with effect from the 1st of August, 2012. Also, the Commission approved the promotion of a Sergeant to Assistant Superintendent of Police II with effect from 7/7/2010.
Equally, the Commission meted out various disciplinary measures to some senior officers for acts unbecoming of superior police officers. A superintendent of Police was dismissed; a Chief Superintendent of Police was compulsorily retired while a Superintendent was reduced in rank to Deputy Superintendent of Police.
The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Mr. Parry B.O. Osayande, DIG (Rtd), CFR, OFR, NPM, mni warmly congratulated all the promoted officers and noted that the Commission would continue to elevate all hard-working officers of the Nigeria Police Force as at and when due. He enjoined all personnel of the force to redouble their efforts towards the maintenance of Law and Order as the Commission he posited is keenly monitoring their service delivery pattern to the Nation and would not fail to sanction erring ones adequately.

2013 - 04 - 23 LIST OF CANDIDATES RECRUITED INTO THE NPF AS CADET ASPS AND INSPECTORS (ICT PROFESSIONALS)
The Police Service Commission has approved the release of names of successful candidates for appointment into the Nigeria Police Force as ICT Professionals; Cadet Assistant Superintendents of Police (C/ ASPs) and Cadet Inspectors (C/ INSPs) as attached. 2. The date and venue of training of the successful Cadets will be released at a later date.

2013 - 04 - 03 PSC PROMOTED SENOIR POLICE OFFICERS
The Commission in its 35th plenary meeting held on Wednesday April 3, 2013 promoted 110 officers including an AIG, 13 Commissioners and 22 Deputy Commissioners. All the promotions are with effect from April 3, 2013, except for the Assistant Inspector-General which is with effect from July 31, 2013. Also two of the Commissioners are in Acting Capacity.

2012 - 10 - 17 PSC TO MONITOR ONDO STATE GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION
The Police Service Commission in continuation of its resolve to ensure that police officers on election duties adhere strictly to the rules and regulations governing the conduct of free, fair and credible elections in Nigeria will be deploying its staff to monitor the conduct of police officers during the forthcoming Ondo State gubernatorial election scheduled for 20th October, 2012. Members of the public are advised to call the following phone numbers to channel their complaints on any act of misconduct or act of gallantry by police officers during the election:

2012 - 10 - 03 PSC PROMOTE 13 CSPs TO RANK OF ACPs AND 4 SP TO CSP
The Police Service Commission held its 31st plenary meeting on the 3rd of October, 2012 where it deliberated on the effective administration of the Nigeria Police Force. At the end of the meeting, far reaching decisions were taken on how to reposition the force. 2. In continuation of its resolve to reward all hardworking and deserving police officers with promotion to the next rank, the Commission at the end of its deliberations promoted thirteen (13) Chief Superintendents of Police to Assistant Commissioners of Police. They are: 1. Ojeka Odama Paul 2. Edung Patrick Ogon

2012 - 09- 07 PSC PROMOTES 105 CSPs TO RANK OF ACPs
The Police Service Commission at its 29th plenary meeting held on the 7th of September, 2012 deliberated on various issues bordering on the smooth and effective administration of the Nigeria Police Force. The Commission took far-reaching decisions in its resolve at transforming, refocusing and repositioning the Force for better service delivery to the Nigerian Nation.
